Studio Inktvis fell in love with RISO because of the intense and richly colored prints it produces. The RISO printing principle is therefore very similar to screen printing. The final print looks handmade, meaning beautiful, not perfect. The process is also environmentally friendly. The ink is made from fairly produced soy oil and the masters are made from Japanese waxed paper. The machine consumes very little energy as RISO printing is a cold printing process.
